We provide quality support services for people of all abilities
Our commitment to you is founded in our vision, our mission and our values.
We listen, review and act
We put words into practice by listening to feedback then updating our practices and policies on an ongoing basis.
We are registered with the NDIS
Distinctive Options undergoes a thorough independent audit every year to ensure we are compliant with government regulations.
Our Values
We provide quality services for people with disabilities to practise choice and control over their lives. We act with respect, flexibility and genuine intention. We apply these to all of our interactions. We are committed to supporting people to live their life the way they want and building better communities together.
Governance
The Constitution requires that the Board comprises a majority of independent Directors, in line with accepted governance best practices. Distinctive Options’ Board has a majority of independent members and it generally meets each month on the fourth Tuesday. Since the pandemic outbreak, Board and Committee Meetings use the on-line Zoom platform for meetings.
As part of its governance role, the Board utilises a number of Committees to review and recommend on specific matters as per each Committee’s adopted terms of reference. Committees currently comprise:
-
Audit & Finance Committee
-
Governance & Risk Committee
-
Business Development Committee
These Committees meet on a rolling pattern as required.
In addition, the Board monitors the organisation’s performance against strategic goals using a Balanced Scorecard. The Scorecard is scrutinised and reviewed on a quarterly basis by the Board.

We are NDIS registered
We all know that the NDIS can seem complicated. We are here to make it easier for you to understand your funding and can point you in the direction of the funding that is right for your needs. This support will help ensure you get the most out of your plan that will serve your health, happiness and wellness.
The government provides funding for almost every person who receives services from Distinctive Options. This funding typically comes in the form of a person’s National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) package or other agreement. The amount of funding available to Distinctive Options to support each participant is determined by the National Disability Insurance Agency or the Department of Health and Human Services.
